İZMİR DEVELOPMENT AGENCY HEADQUARTERS

Located on Cumhuriyet Boulevard in Konak, İzmir, the project was developed around the concept of a transparent architectural envelope responding to the environmental pressures created by heavy traffic and transportation activity in İzmir’s climate. Rather than becoming a structure completely detached from its surroundings, the project aims to create a building that filters the city while generating its own public atmosphere within. The highly reflective glass sun-shading elements surrounding the building provide solar control, particularly along the west-facing main façade, while preserving uninterrupted visual connections between the interior spaces and the sea. Through this approach, the façade becomes an architectural layer that mediates the relationship between sun, views, city, and interior space.
